Community Service Starts Close to Home

Adamston Lions Club is a group of local volunteers committed to making a practical difference in Adamston and throughout Harrison County.Whether we are helping someone obtain prescription eyeglasses, screening students for potential vision concerns, supporting a local team, or investing in a young athlete’s education, our goal is simple: serve our neighbors with compassion, respect, and care.

How We Serve

Vision remains at the heart of our work, but our service reaches throughout the community.

01. Eyeglass Assistance

We help eligible community members who are unable to afford the prescription eyeglasses they need. Applications are reviewed respectfully and confidentially by our Sight Committee. In addition, Adamston Lions Club collects, recycles, and repurposes used eyeglasses!

02. Student Support

Our commitment to local students reaches from the classroom to the playing field. Adamston Lions Club members provide free vision screenings for third- and sixth-grade students in Harrison County Schools. These screenings help identify potential vision concerns and encourage families to follow up with an eye doctor when needed. We also support local students through scholarships that help them continue their education after high school.

Need Help Obtaining Eyeglasses?

We understand that the cost of prescription eyeglasses can be difficult to manage. The Adamston Lions Club provides limited assistance to eligible community members through our Sight Committee.Our application asks for household and financial information so the committee can review requests consistently and meet applicable assistance requirements. Information is handled respectfully and used only as part of the review process.

How the process works

Our Sight Committee confidentially reviews the information provided.

3. We Contact You

A committee member may contact you if clarification or additional information is needed.

4. Receive a Decision

Applicants are contacted after the review and provided with next-step instructions when assistance is approved.

Helping Students See Their Potential

Clear vision can make an important difference in a student’s ability to learn, participate, and feel confident at school. Adamston Lions Club volunteers provide free vision screenings for third- and sixth-grade students in Harrison County Schools. The screening helps identify students who may be experiencing a potential vision concern. When a concern is identified, the student’s family is encouraged to schedule a professional eye examination. Screening helps identify a concern. An eye doctor provides the diagnosis and treatment.Adamston Lions Club proudly supports local students and recognizes the commitment, teamwork, and leadership developed through academics. Through our scholarship fund, we also help local students take the next step toward college and continued education.

We offer scholarships up to $500 per student!
